Looking up, you squint against the torrent pouring from the sky. The trees sway in the wind and the black bark is slick with slime. Yet looking back at the river, you think this is still safer. Ordering your Company to begin the climb, you pick the strongest looking tree and ascend to the low branches where the limbs are thickest. Stepping gingerly out on a limb crossing the churning water below, you grab other branches to stabilize yourself.
