Looking at the churning water, you realize that your choices are limited. You can go over or through. Wood floats, and with a few branches and linked arms, you might be able to stay together long enough to swim to the other side. On the other hand, the trees swaying in the wind above the river pass close enough to each other for you to attempt to jump between branches in the canopy. The rain coats everything and there is no telling if the branches will hold, but it provides a potentially drier path. Neither option sounds good to you, but the worst would be to try and go back toward the Blood Fiend.
